Welcome to Tasiujak Lake Fishing Lodge located in Northern Labrador, home for the Arctic Char. Arctic Char are fierce fighters and can grow to over 20 lbs. in this unspoiled wilderness. Tasiujak Lake and its river system has some of the best trophy Arctic Char fishing you will find anywhere and the scenery surrounding Tasiujak Lake is breathtaking.
The main base camp is situated at 57 15 44.28N 62 12 56.73W in the beautiful foothills of the Torngat Mountains of Northern Labrador. The lodge is 284 miles north of Goose Bay, Labrador. Tasiujak Lake Lodge is located at the crystal clear river outlet of Tasiujak Lake and only a few minutes walk to the river inlet. The main holding pools for Arctic Char are just steps from the front door. The river outlet of Tasiujak Lake then flows about 5 miles where it spills into Laura Lake and Frank Lake (6 miles long) which is held back by a natural rock barrier before the water tumbles into a large pool (Franks Pool) about one kilometer from the ocean before it empties into Tasiujak Bay, North Atlantic Ocean.
Arctic Char usually begin the journey into the river early in July and continue up stream in great numbers during August and early September. Tasiujak Lake produces some of the best arctic char fishing in Labrador. The average day's catch is 6 to 8 fish a day, averaging 27 inches long and weighing 8 lb. and char over 20 lbs. are possible and the largest caught... almost beating the world record, weighed in at 28 lbs. You can also fish for Brook Trout and Lake Trout that also make their journey up the Tasiujak River System. The crystal clear rivers flowing into and out of Tasiujak Lake are full of Brook Trout 12" to 20" long and weighing up to 4 lbs. Tasiujak Lake also has some very good Lake Trout fishing with the average Lake Trout weighing 10 lbs. or 12 lbs. and grow to 40 lbs. in the rich deep waters of Tasiujak Lake.
